On the 27th of February
Arts Award had some special visitors, the fundamental architectural inclusion.
We did a workshop called “A village of Champions”, at the beginning we watched
a power point which showed us the Olympic village and various other things that
the Olympics has given to us such as: Various stadiums, the village ECT and the
advantages and disadvantages of the Olympics such as it could be more business for
the businesses and it will advertise Britain, England but some of the
disadvantages are, although the extra people, tourists, this could disrupt our
transport such as buses and trains not to mention the traffic but it is all
worth it because we are hosting the Olympics ( or is it? It depends how you
view it). The activity at hand was to
plan (brainstorm first) and then create (with cardboard nets for cubes and
cuboids, shaped appropriately for the place). We put ourselves onto groups and begun
planning. The planning was very open and anyone could do the activity without
feeling they had got something wrong. We had to plan what we were going to have
in our Olympic village while considering what made a good community. We decided
some of the things that made a good community are: if it is close knit, it
would be good if it had good law enforcement and if it was clean environment. When
we had to build particular shape for the places we were building and we had a
grid telling us what colour the building had to be. Our village/city turned out
very well and quite colourful. Please enjoy the pictures and for further information
